Final Project Proposal

The final project I would like to do something involving VR.

     I would develop a world, that you could view in VR with the world also being projected onto a surface in one of the classrooms. The world would be created in Unity, and output to the Samsung Gear VR or an HTC Vive if i can borrow one from professor Sutherland.

The world will be developed so that you can travel around and experience it like you are in it yourself. The world will potentially a be a forest that ive already started to work on. The concept will be to experience a world that is not the same as ours, with temples, and other locations to view and try to be as immersive as possible.

Artist statement

The goal of this project was to work with Joey and set up an experience that everyone would be able to enjoy and participate. Combining both the talents of joeys music and my visual style, we intended to mesh it together.The goal is to have everyone have fun and to show their creativity using a method not many normally do. Combining the creativity of the visuals, and using the playstation controller as something other it was intended for, while being able to use Joeys dj platform.
     I chose Joey because we both have a similar style and work really well together in the past, he is an incredible guy who has alot of experience and talent in his field. We worked together in the past and he has made music for me before as well. The idea i had would not have worked with anyone else, it was something only he and i could have done together.

I finalized the videos, made the listeners work and was setting up in the black box the night before the stage so we could get our gear ready. I prepulled the stands, and the boards, and got the screen set up and ready to project.

Joey and i set up in the black box 10/30 to see what would work best, we set up a projector stand, and two bounce boards. We also set up his dj booth on the stage

The project me and Joey will be doing is a live DJ show, i started making the visuals and testing out the audio listeners on madmapper. He sent me footage of dancers for and the crowd for me to edit and put together.

Artist research 3

• Marina Abramovic

Marina is an installation and performance artist who is most known for her interaction with her fans during the performance. One of the most popular ones"the artist is present" involved her sitting in a room and her staring at someone, at the end of the performance her ex lover came and sat down in front of her for the first time in years, and it turned into an emotional situation. Another performance is house with an ocean view where she lived on three platforms for 12 days without eating or speaking with zero privacy as museum goers could see her at all times.

Project 3 Proposal

For this project, I will be working with Joey,

 I will be designing visuals, and reactive video to music, while joey will be creating music and setting up a MIDI controller for the viewers to interact with.

   The project is going to be a live DJ show, with interactive music decided by the viewers. They will walk up and play the notes on the keyboard so that it will be fully decided by the viewer. The footage will react with the audio and create a video based on what they choose. We will have a variety of music to go along with variety of video effects.

There will be a background behind the DJ booth with a crowd acting like its in a club/venue.
The entire performance should last less then 5 minutes.

Project 2 Artist Statement

What is this thing? Why does is seem to radiate? Where did it come from?
The theme i want to follow for the semester is sci-fi, first with mythology in the first project and now
with aliens in the second. The mysterious is very appealing to me, i would like to channel it in all that i do.

The object is supposed to have magically appeared and the video is meant to be like found footage. What is this mysterious object, why does it radiate energy, are all things i want to convey in this.
